About the capital campaign
Transforming The GLOBE Academy's Lower Campus gym into a vibrant space for GLOBE's community.
The GLOBE Academy's new Lower Campus, located at the corner of North Druid Hills and Clairmont Roads, opened to Kindergarten through 4th grade students in August of 2025. It includes spaces that serve the entire GLOBE community, and later this year, for the first time, this site will bring together kindergarten through fifth grades on one elementary campus.

One of those spaces in particular — we’re calling it The Owl’s Nest — will house everything from PE classes, sporting events, and science fairs to multicultural celebrations, school performances and graduation ceremonies.
​
The original budget for the acquisition and renovation of the new campus, however, did not cover critical upgrades to this space. To that end, we have launched this capital campaign to raise the $500,000 needed to turn an old gym into a beloved center of the GLOBE community.

About The GLOBE Academy
Established in 2013, The GLOBE Academy is a free public charter school in DeKalb County, Georgia. The school serves 1,100 students in kindergarten through 8th grades, admitted via a random lottery.

GLOBE is a dual language immersion school, with students assigned to one of three language tracks: French, Spanish, or Mandarin.Â

There is currently no air conditioning or heat, making it uncomfortable for student daily use and dreadful for large scale events at certain times of the year.
